This morning a well-known rapper Yung6ix said out the frustration he has been facing with Nigerian rap music through one of his tweets that reads this, 'when ever I want to listen to an African rap I usually play yung6ix and South African rappers and I feel like WTF is going with the Nigerian rappers? Please wake up pals*
Definitely he is not the only rapper concern about this, so subsequently others also started saying out their minds on the issue and the first person to respond was Terry tha Rapman he said
'I a kind get where he's coming from. I've been stressing this for long, when I said 'rap is dead' in Nigeria I didn't mean nobody is rapping. I meant we (being the fans, media and promoters) stopped supporting rap music as it should be at a point'.
He also added to it by saying, 'it's not possible for one to blame the rappers tuning their style? Rappers hardly get the airplay/support as our pop counterparts so as a result of this had to adapt to the system. I still believe there's hope. We are far from the days of Trybesmen, 2shotz, Ruggedman, Modenine and when MI dropped Talk About It and MI2. We need more rap concerts to promote hip-hop culture. The few ones I've been to were not encouraging'.
