Ilya Novikov 23 year old film artist have been arrested for the act of impersonating Jesus Christ in the city if perm in central Russia's perm krai region walking along a road side.
According to an eyewitness, the artist was wearing a long flowing white robe. The sight of him became obvious to motorists and passersby, the situation was reported to the police and he was arrested immediately and took him along side with his giant wooden cross in the bark of their patrol car. Mr. Novikov finally was taken to police station and seriously questioned and later released.
According to a police spokesman:
"Novikov wearing a white long robe, carrying a giant cross, was spotted by onlookers after which police were called to witness the scene. Police officers questioned Novikov at the police station and latter let him go."
According to Mr Novikov said:
"A friend of mine gave me some woods which I made a cross out of them. I only tried to repeat what happened in the days of Jesus chris, but unfortunately the reaction of haven't changed they were all laughing, shouting and mocking me and this also prove that the Bible story and Christianity that existed over 2,000 years ago is true.

According to Mr Novikov said:

But Father Igor Anoufriev, the rector of the city's Church of St George, condemned the stunt as blasphemy.
